Land reform in Ukraine: prospects and challenges for the sustainable development of the agricultural sector and rural areas

Despite the war in Ukraine and current challenges in agricultural production, logistics, marketing, etc., the topic of reforming the land market remains extremely relevant.

Liberalization of the land market is considered an important component of effective, stable and sustainable development of the agricultural sector and rural areas in Ukraine. However, the reform of the land market is the subject of intense political and public debate, based not only on the benefits, but also on the uncertainty and possible negative consequences associated with the reform.
In this regard, the goal of the online event is a multilateral dialogue on the development of the land market in Ukraine, expanding knowledge about the social and economic consequences of land reform, and finding ways to solve the relevant challenges. The focus is on the current state of land reform, trends in the development of the land purchase and rental market, as well as opportunities and challenges for sustainable agricultural and rural development in Ukraine.
Organizers of the event:
Leibniz Institute of Agrarian Development in Transitional Economies. Leibniz (Halle, Germany); Polis National University; Agency GOODWILL (Zhytomyr, Ukraine); German-Ukrainian agropolitical dialogue APD Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine)
